NWC Successful in Hants PCTs First BREEAM project
Hampshire Primary Care Trust commenced their first ever BREEAM development in 2008 at the site of the new Fareham Community Hospital. Naturally Wild Consultants undertook all relevant ecological surveys at this site, producing reports within the requirements of BREEAM and working with a multi-disciplinary team of consultants, along with the Borough Councils ecologist and tree officer, to design ecologically sensitive landscaping and features to enhance the sites biodiversity.
The project was awarded an 'Excellent' rating by BRE Global, a testimony to the extremely high standard of, among other elements, the ecological management of the project.
Steven Evans Assistant Design Manager, Morgan Ashurst testified that~
Following Naturally Wilds ecological advice and input into the Fareham Community Hospital BREEAM application, Morgan Ashurst recommended NWC to other firms, and would definitely use them again. NWCs attention to deadlines, budget, materials and communication has achieved an excellent standard all round and Morgan Ashurst benefitted from not only the quality of our advice but also our ability to liaise with multi-disciplinary consultants.
Naturally Wild has worked on many BREEAM projects, fulfilling the ecological element of the assessment. This process begins with ecological surveys, the findings of which are used by our experienced senior team to score the sites ecology. Our team liaises with the landscape achitects and other consultants of the project to design ecologically beneficialfeatures in the landscaping, such as sympathetic planting and wildlife ponds. Since the new BREEAM Healthcare assessment scheme was brought about in 2008, Hospitals are now being built using the system.
